Information about us:
www.amchara.com is a site licensed to and operated by, Amchara Community Ltd in the UK, and Amchara Limited and Amchara Medical Ltd in Malta.
Amchara Community offers Community operates an online community service and application.
Amchara Limited and Amchara Medical Ltd offer residential health retreats, online consultations and functional medicine tests.
Amchara Limited is registered in Malta under company number C.68523 and Amchara Medical Ltd is register in Malta under company number C.91742. We have our registered office at Villagg Ta’ Sbejha, Triq Mongur, Gharb, Gozo GRB1520 which is also our trading address.
Amchara Community
The Amchara Community is a service operated by Amchara Community Ltd. Membership of the Amchara Community is separate from attendance at an Amchara residential retreat, unless we specifically state otherwise as part of an offer or package.
The Community provides access to a range of health, wellbeing and lifestyle content and experiences which may include live and recorded events, talks, workshops, demonstrations, community discussions, fasting programmes, courses, coaching and sessions delivered by members of the Amchara team and invited guest experts.
Membership
Membership is personal to you and may not be transferred or shared with another person.
The benefits included in your membership will be those described when you join. Certain courses, consultations, health tests, coaching programmes, supplements, retreats or other additional services may carry a separate charge unless we specifically state that they are included within your membership.
We may develop, change or replace individual events, speakers, classes, content or features from time to time as the Community evolves. We will always aim to maintain the overall quality and value of the Community.
Membership Payments and Renewal
The price, duration and payment frequency of your membership will be clearly shown when you join.
Where membership is purchased on a recurring basis, your membership will continue and payments will be taken at the agreed intervals until you cancel it.
You may cancel future renewal of your membership at any time. Unless otherwise stated, your access will continue until the end of the membership period you have already paid for.
If we change the price of a recurring membership, we will tell you before the new price applies to your next renewal.
Nothing in these terms affects any cancellation, refund or other rights you have under applicable consumer law.
Lifetime Membership
Where we offer a Lifetime Membership, this means continued membership without further recurring membership fees for as long as the Amchara Community service continues to operate.
Lifetime Membership is personal to the member and may not be transferred, resold or assigned to another person.
We may continue to develop and change the format, technology, content and individual benefits provided through the Community over time.
Health and Medical Information
The Amchara Community is intended to provide education, information, inspiration and general wellbeing support.
Information provided through the Community, including information provided during live events, recorded content, discussions, courses or by guest experts, should not be treated as a diagnosis or as a substitute for individual medical advice from your doctor or other appropriately qualified healthcare professional.
You remain responsible for deciding whether any activity, fasting programme, dietary change, exercise, breathwork practice, supplement or other health or wellbeing practice is appropriate for you.
If you have an existing medical condition, are taking medication, are pregnant or have concerns about participating in any activity discussed within the Community, you should seek appropriate professional advice before participating.
The Medical Disclaimer contained elsewhere in these Terms & Conditions also applies to all Amchara Community services and content.
Live Events, Courses and Guest Experts
The programme of live events, courses and guest speakers may change from time to time.
We may occasionally need to change the date, time, presenter or content of an event or replace an event with an alternative.
Views expressed by guest speakers, practitioners or Community members are their own and do not necessarily represent the views of Amchara Community Ltd.
Any additional terms or charges relating to a particular course, consultation, test, coaching programme or other separately purchased service will be explained before purchase.
Community Conduct
The Amchara Community is intended to be a supportive and respectful environment.
Members must treat other members, Amchara staff, practitioners and guest experts with respect.
We reserve the right to remove content or suspend or terminate access where a member behaves abusively, harasses another person, repeatedly disrupts the Community, posts unlawful or seriously inappropriate material, misuses another person’s confidential information or otherwise materially breaches these terms.
Members should respect the privacy of other members and must not share another member’s personal experiences, health information, comments, photographs or other private information outside the Community without their permission.
Member Posts and Contributions
Members may be able to post comments, questions, photographs, videos or other material within the Community.
You remain responsible for anything you choose to share and should avoid posting information that you do not wish other Community members to see.
By posting material within the Community you give Amchara Community Ltd permission to display that material within the Community as necessary to operate the service.
We will not use a member’s personal story, photograph, video or contribution for external advertising or promotional purposes without appropriate permission.
Recording of Events
Some Community events may be recorded so that they can be made available to members afterwards.
Where an event is being recorded we will aim to make this clear to participants.
Members should be aware that comments, questions, voice or video contributions made during a recorded session may potentially form part of that recording.
Access and Technology
The Community may be delivered through Amchara websites, applications or third-party technology platforms.
We aim to provide reliable access but cannot guarantee that the Community platform or every feature will be available without interruption at all times.
From time to time access may be temporarily unavailable because of maintenance, upgrades, technical problems or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, the videos, recordings, courses, presentations, written materials, downloads, graphics and other content provided by Amchara through the Community remain the intellectual property of Amchara Community Ltd or the relevant content owner.
Community content is supplied for your personal use only and must not be copied, reproduced, sold, republished, distributed or used commercially without our written permission.
Privacy
Personal information collected in connection with the Amchara Community will be handled in accordance with the Amchara Privacy Policy.
Because the Community allows members to interact with one another, any information you voluntarily post within Community areas may be visible to other members. Members should therefore take appropriate care when sharing personal or health information.
Bookings:
For residential retreat bookings over the phone please contact us by phone or email to check availability on your required dates or for any enquiries regarding your booking.
For online consultations bookings and to order functional medicine tests please contact us via email or telephone.
A deposit of £500 must be paid to secure your booking. The remainder balance must be received 8 weeks prior to the retreat start date. Bookings made within 8 weeks of the retreat start date must be paid in full.
For bookings online only available dates are bookable, full payment is taken immediately at the time of booking.
For online consultations and functional medicine tests full payment is taken at the time of booking.
When you book with us you understand and accept these terms and conditions.
Payments:
Payments are made through Swan-Pay by debit or with credit card either over the phone, online or through our secure payment portal.
Cards accepted are Visa, Mastercard, Maestro & Amex, credit or debit.
Accommodation:
We operate 15 client facing apartments, these can be booked privately or shared with one other person/partner/friend as dual occupancy.
Cancellation & Refunds:
If you wish to cancel your retreat, then you must confirm this in writing.
Once your booking is confirmed, you have 24 hours to cancel your booking and receive a full refund.
After 24 hours, we do not offer refunds. If you have a genuine travel problem then we recommend you check with any travel insurance that you may have.
In the event of an ‘Act of God’ flooding, fire, war, earthquakes, pandemics or/and any restrictions on travel placed by Governments then no refund will be provided.
Amchara is an alcohol-free zone and we have a zero-tolerance policy to clients drinking alcohol whilst in residence at Amchara. Anybody found with alcohol or deemed to be under the influence of alcohol (or illegal narcotics) at Amchara will be required to leave immediately with no refund.
Amchara operates a zero-tolerance policy towards abuse of staff or other clients. Any clients abusing any staff members or negatively impacting on any other clients during their stay with Amchara will be asked to leave immediately with no refund.
If you wish to cancel your consultation or order of your functional medicine tests this must be done before the consultation or/and before we order the functional medicine test. Once we have ordered the test or/and booked the consultation there is no refund.
Medical Disclaimer:
Please read our Contra-Indications to Juice Fasting & Colonics before booking your retreat. You must inform Amchara of any pre-existing medical conditions or contra-indications at the time of booking. You must also disclose all pre-existing medical conditions and contra-indications on the Confidential Health Intake Form which will be sent to you in your information pack after booking your retreat.
Amchara management may feel it is necessary to contact you to discuss any part of the detox program including participation in classes and treatments prior to your arrival.
If you are undergoing any form of Physiotherapy treatment, Osteopathy or Chiropractic treatment we recommend you seek clearance from your practitioner regarding participation in any of the classes or treatments.
We recommend that you seek advice from your doctor if you have any concerns regarding any part of our detox program such as Juice Fasting, Colonics, classes or treatments.
If you are on any form of medication, you should seek advice from your doctor as to whether our detox program is contra-indicated and to ensure our program is safe for you to participate in. You are fully responsible for your own health during your stay with us including participation in any classes or treatments.
Amchara cannot be held responsible for any health issues that arise due to any possible contra-indications that have not been disclosed prior to arrival on the retreat.
All the information on this website is based on our own research and knowledge. The information provided by us on our website should not be construed as medical advice and we do not accept any responsibility for any consequence that occurs from the usage of this site or its services.
Amchara do not claim to diagnose or cure any existing medical treatments, however many clients do attend Amchara with medical and health conditions and their treatments and experience at Amchara helps them to self-heal from certain conditions.
Many people attend detox centres to deal with physical symptoms such as, arthritis, candida, IBS, diabetes, asthma, fibromyalgia, digestive issues, fatigue, migraines, headaches, skin problems obesity, addictions, compulsive eating, eating disorders, haemorrhoids, high cholesterol, adrenal fatigue, insomnia, detoxification, depression, anxiety, severe stress, low self-esteem, low self-confidence, ME/CFS, remission, parasites – fibroids and other health conditions.
Protecting Your Privacy:
Your personal information and data will never be sold or passed onto any third party though your private health records may be shared with appropriate therapists, nurses or doctors when we deem it either necessary or appropriate for your benefit and for best practice.
Travel Insurance/Health Insurance:
We recommend that you purchase travel insurance in case you need to cancel your booking due to circumstances beyond your control such as sickness, or death of a family member, or changes in travel arrangements made by yourself or a travel company, or any other circumstance that may require you to cancel your retreat.
N.B. Amchara reserves the right to change details of the programme/schedule or change therapists or any other details should circumstances necessitate it.
