Linseed, also known as flax seed has many health properties, it is highly rich on omega 3’s, it contains even more than fish oils but did you know that it is easy to make a lovely, hydrating linseed tea too?

It’s very simple to make and it’s very hydrating, most of the illness that we have in modern western lifestyles occurs either through inflammation in one form or another and this is compounded by a lack of hydration.

We don’t drink enough water and Linseed tea is a wonderful way to get excellent hydration into the body.

It’s easy to make too.

Speedy option, boil a kettle and pour 1 point of boiling water into your flask along with 1 table spoon of linseed.

Drink throughout the day. Longer option, place 1 tablespoon of flax seed per pint of water into a saucepan and bring to the boil, then turn off the heat and leave it covered and let them soak overnight or for 10 hours.

Bring back to the boil and simmer for 1 hour, it will be slightly gelatinous but you can ad more water if you find it too thick.

You may sieve the seeds out if you prefer.

The gelatinous seeds are also very good for the colon, easing constipation, the seeds hold onto a lot of water and so will hydrate the body throughout, particularly the colon, they also aid digestion too.

The taste is pleasant, it’s a slightly nutty taste, the seeds are not to every ones liking so you can sieve them out if you prefer.

Stay well and healthy
