GREEN DETOX JUICE

GREEN DETOX JUICE

This is one of our favourite juices at our health retreat and this is the juice we begin our day with straight after the morning yoga class. Personally I love to add lots of lemon and ginger as it gives the juice a real tangy taste. Lemon of course is very alkalising to the system too.

  • 2 celery stalks
  • 1 cucumber
  • 2 kale leaves
  • 1 handful spinach
  • 1 cube of ginger about 1 inch
  • The juice of 2 lemons
  • 1 apple or pear
  • Optional mint for extra flavour

CARROT DETOX JUICE

CARROT DETOX JUICE

Carrots are high in beta carotene and good for the mucus membranes, for example our eyes and lungs (carrots really do help you see in the dark!) You do need quiet a few carrots as they don’t give out much juice. Fennel brings a lovely liquorice balance to the flavour and Kale is great this time of year as we head into Autumn, it’s part of the Brassica family of vegetables.

  • 1 cucumber
  • 5 carrots
  • 2 big handfuls of kale
  • 1/2 a lemon
  • 1 inch long piece of ginger
  • 1 fennel

BEETROOT DETOX JUICE

BEETROOT DETOX JUICE

Beetroot is a genuine superfood, it is high in antioxidants and so healthy in so many ways. It is becoming increasingly popular. Make sure you use raw beetroot and if you can use the leaves and stalks from the beetroot too, they are full of iron and minerals. Again I love ginger in this juice, ginger is actaully very high in zinc so a good juice to feed to the boys!

  • 3 beetroots
  • Handful of Kale or some Broccoli
  • 2 celery sticks, chopped
  • 2 limes
  • 1 cube of ginger
  • a small apple to taste if you need to sweeten it
